These Personality Portraits are so much fun and a great way to capture your child's unique personality! For these sessions I use a seamless paper backdrop, my Paul C. Buff Alien Bee 400 with a medium to large foldable Octabox. I do not use many props as I like to keep the focus and attention on the child, so usually a simple stool and for younger ones a hat or small wooden toy in the picture. For the image above I used a small stool ( found at Five Below for $5!) and a hat which we had fun throwing back and forth during the session :)
Editing: I use a combination of Camera Raw, Lightroom and Photoshop when editing. most of my images are hand edited but to save time I also use some of my favorite actions in Photoshop. Photoshop actions used in this image were from Greater Than Gatsby https://www.greaterthangatsby.com/photoshop-actions/ . I used the Da Vinci action from the Painterly Portrait ll set . I also applied a texture in photoshop that I purchased from Summerana photoshop actions and photography tools.
Personality Portraits
These sessions are a great way to capture your child's adorable smiles, silly faces, the way their nose crinkles when they laugh and so much more

Cardboard Box Airplane Session
Fun photo session with the family this morning:) It was actually a very fun family activity! My daughter took behind the scenes pictures with my phone and gave her brother some jelly beans for motivation in between pictures. My husband helped dangle the paper airplanes ✈️ and play TopGun music while I took the photos of my son. This was a fun easy DIY kind of session! Items used to make the airplane we already had at home : Crate, cardboard boxes, duck tape and packing tape. We taped fishing line to the paper airplanes to dangle above. I keep my photography seamless backdrop and light (Alien Bee and softbox in combination with window light) at home and we already had the jacket and hat/goggles. If you don't have a backdrop and light you could use a wall in your home near a big window with the natural light shining in :)
